Ahhh pirates. One of my favourite games of all time and quite possibly the best remake of a game as well. Sid Meiers Pirates is now lush, bright and 3d! Its still addictive and still bizarre (whats with the fancy arse dancing).
Basically you go around attack towns and ships till you have lots of gold, then you go marry some governors daughter. Sure it sounds weak but those sea battles are tense!
Its one of those rare games that I would quite happily take the day off to play, sort of like world of warcraft but in a less all life consuming kind of way. The replayability factor (I call it factor arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) is high and the game is cheap enough these days that you don't even have to be a pirate to play pirates.
